Our Brewery

Widmer Brothers Brewing is located in beautiful and brew-friendly Portland, OR. Our publicly-held brewery employs over 150 people who are as passionate about quality craft beer as Kurt & Rob themselves.

We opened the brewery in 1984, and built a new 40-barrel brewing system in our current Russell Street location in 1990. We've grown steadily ever since. In 1996, we completed installation of a state-of-the art 250-barrel brewhouse, bringing our capacity to 220,000 barrels per year. In 1996, for the first time in our brewery's history we also installed a bottling line, capable of producing 500 bottles per minute. In 2008 we added six new 1500-barrel fermentation tanks that increased our capacity to 450,000 barrels per year, and added a new keg filling line capable of filling 300 kegs per hour.

How to get to the Brewery / where we create

Take the MAX
The brewery is located right on the Yellow Line at the Mississippi/Albina stop.

From I-5 Northbound
Take exit 302A (Rose Quarter/Broadway) and turn left onto Broadway (2nd light). At the last right hand turn before the Broadway Bridge, take a right on Larrabee. Follow Larrabee for about a block and you will come to a light. Go through that light and you will be on N. Interstate. Follow N. Interstate for a half a mile north and take a right on to Russell.

From 405 Northbound/Fremont Bridge
Take the Kerby St. exit, turn right onto N. Kerby. Turn right onto N. Russell. Follow Russell to the end of the hill.

From I-5 Southbound
Take exit 302A (Rose Quarter/City Center) and turn right on Broadway toward city center. At the last right hand turn before the Broadway Bridge, take a right on Larrabee. Follow Larrabee about a block and you will come to a light. Go through the light and you will be on N. Interstate. Follow N. Interstate for a half a mile north and take a right on to Russell.

From Broadway Bridge Eastbound (from Downtown)
Take the first right after crossing the bridge. At the stop sign take a right on to N. Interstate. Follow N. Interstate for a half a mile north and take a right on to Russell.

Keg Sales

Federal rules and regulations prohibit us from delivering to non-licensed accounts, so you’ll need to come pick up the beer from the brewery at 929 N. Russell Portland, OR 97227

May - December:
Monday - Wednesday 9am-6pm
Thursday - Friday 9am-7pm
Saturday 11am-7pm
Sunday 11am-5pm.

January - April:
Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm
Saturday and Sunday: 11am - 5pm

All equipment rentals require a 100% refundable deposit upon return of the equipment. Kegs and equipment rented Friday or Saturday will be due the following Wednesday by 6pm and kegs and equipment rented Sunday-Thursday will be due the following Monday by 6pm. When returning equipment please leave equipment in car and check in at retail desk to collect documentation and original deposit. Failure to return keg and equipment properly can result in deposit charge. Home system users will be asked to start a “revolving account” which requires the initial deposit be charged, which is fully refundable upon the return of the equipment with receipt of original charge. Revolving customers receive a couple benefits such as dock sales seven days a week and earning loyalty points that are redeemable for merchandise or pub credit.

Gift Certificates
Widmer Brothers gift certificates are available and may be applied to the purchase of beer. However, please note, when using a gift certificate for purchasing beer, it must be picked up at the brewery. The beer cannot be shipped anywhere.
