The Widmer Brothers Pub

The Widmer Brothers Pub has been serving guests in North Portland since 1996. With the main brewery across the street and our 10-barrel innovation system next door, the pub is where we showcase our love for crafting delicious beer. Over half of our 24 taps feature small batch brews from the adjacent innovation brewery, so there’s always something new to try. Perch at the bar with a flight or grab a growler or Crowler of your favorite beer to go.

Tap List

Alt Bier

5.0% ABV | 40.0 IBU

Altbier

The first beer ever brewed by Widmer Brothers. Alt beer is a traditional German ale. Alt is an assertively bitter beer with a clean, dry roasted finish and a deep amber hue. The potent hop bitterness is balanced by the flavor of the Munich and Caramel specialty malts.

Pinot Gris Cider

5.0% ABV | 0.0 IBU

Cider - Other

10% hand pressed Pinot Gris grapes from Goschie Farms are added to our original cider and co-fermented. It’s made from three apple varieties rooted in American culture—Red Delicious, Yellow Delicious, and Johnny Gold—picked and pressed by hand in Oregon. A lager beer yeast was chosen to create a cider that perfectly balances sweet and tart with a light, crisp flavor and a clean, refreshing finish. Pinot grapes add a subtext of wine structure, flavor, and acidity.

Hefeweizen

4.9% ABV | 30.0 IBU

American Hefeweizen

* 2017 GOLD MEDAL WINNER - Oregon Beer Awards! *
Meet the beer that started it all. Our naturally cloudy flagship brew starts with the highest quality wheat. It's bold, clean flavor and pronounced citrus and floral aromas are what define American-style Hefeweizen. So pour yourself a cool, cloudy glass, finish with a lemon and enjoy the original.

Green & Gold Kölsch

5.2% ABV | 35.0 IBU

Kölsch

We are RCTID. Each year the Timbers Army and the 107ist host a homebrew competition, bringing out the best in what makes the Rose City Great: craft beer, creativity, and a passion for the Green & Gold. Timbers Army homebrewer Abram Goldman-Armstrong's recipe was chosen and brewed by Widmer Brothers for you to enjoy as you cheer on your Timbers. Green & Gold Kolsch is a golden straw-colored beer with aromas of strawberry and cracked black pepper, a soft sweet bready malt flavor, a creamy body, and a crisp dry finish. Prost!

Deadlift Imperial IPA

8.6% ABV | 70.0 IBU

IPA - Imperial / Double

Deadlift boasts the strong hop flavor of an imperial IPA without the weigh down. Citrusy and berry-like Nelson Sauvin hops meld with just enough malty sweetness and caramel character to balance the intense hop flavor and aroma.

Barrel-Aged Quadrophonic

10.5% ABV | 18.0 IBU

Belgian Quad

We brewed a huge Belgian-style Quad beer, and will be presenting it three different ways in the upcoming weeks. We've done the original Quad, a
Barrel-Aged version, and also a 50/50 blend of the original and Barrel-Aged. Ask your server which version we have on today!

Fruitless Pursuit

6.4% ABV | 75.0 IBU

IPA - American

**Dan's Ultimate IPA** What if an IPA didn’t have to be full of citrus flavors from the hops and could encompass berry and stonefruit flavors instead? This IPA seeks to fulfill this challenge. A clean malt base of pale ale malt, flaked barley for head retention and crystal 40 for some color all round out the platform for these interesting hops to let their flavors shine through. An intense raspberry and currant aroma draws you in, while the ripe fruit flavors from the hops lead to a satisfying conclusion. Cheers to taking the road less traveled!

Saisonic Shift

7.7% ABV | 45.0 IBU

Saison / Farmhouse Ale

We partnered up with Great Western Malting Company to brew a Saison with some experimental Great Western Malt. The highlight is a “funk malt” they made on their innovation malting system. This malt has nuances of citrus (lemon). This is coupled with their “PURE” Pilsen malt which is light and clean tasting. A traditional Belgian Saison yeast was used, producing fruity esters and a tough of phenols. Brew-1 and Lemondrop hops were used to accentuate the malt profile. The result? A dry, highly complex Saison that showcases some excellent experimental ingredients.

Chocolate Pretzel Bier

4.9% ABV | 0.0 IBU

Hefeweizen

Weisse bier brewed with pretzels and cacao nibs

Silver Warrior

6.2% ABV | 54.0 IBU

Pale Ale - American

A hoppy pale ale brewed with Sterling and Warrior hops that are Salmon Safe, meaning the hop farm that grew them are certified in helping the conservation of our Oregon urban and agricultural watersheds. The malt too is considered Salmon Safe. This beer is a clean pale that has nuances of fruit and citrus from the Warrior hops coupled with a slight floral note from the Sterling hops. Slightly dry, most of the sugars have been fermented out making this beer dangerously drinkable given it’s ABV. Cheers!

Small Hands Make Big Walls W/Coffee

4.8% ABV | 19.0 IBU

Lager - Dark

This batch was aged with Mexican Coffee! Unlike its European counterpart, Mexican Vienna Lagers are slightly darker and less malty due to the use of adjuncts typically in the form of corn. Aromas of caramel and grahm cracker from the malts are dominate, followed by an intermingle of slight floral notes from the Tetnanger noble hops. One might even say that it’s off the wall…

All Rye Long

7.3% ABV | 21.0 IBU

Rye Beer

Base Chocolate Rye Saison is All Rye Long. The barrel aged version is “Rye Sexual.” The beer was made in collaboration with Backwoods Brewing.

Glazed And Infused

8.0% ABV | 60.0 IBU

Stout - American Imperial / Double

Breakfast stout made with Dapper & Wise coffee and real Blue Star buttermilk doughnuts. Everybody loves Donuts and coffee, and chocolate…and stout. This beer is our ode to the perfect breakfast beer. Made with Blue Star Donuts (Old Fashioned Buttermilks), the only thing it’s missing is maple syrup and bacon (don’t fret, that beers is coming). Made for Brian Yaeger’s Baker Dozen festival is meant to be indulgent. This beer was also inspired by Quinn Thompson, a man with a love for all things qualitative and Minnesotan. We hope that you and Brian approve. Prost and enjoy!

Yama Lama Ding Dong

6.0% ABV | 45.0 IBU

Stout - American

Collab with Culmination. Brewed wth marshmallows and sweet potatoes.

Hefe X (Nelson Sauvin Hops)

4.9% ABV | 50.0 IBU

Hefeweizen

Hefeweizen is an unfiltered American style Hefeweizen (wheat and yeast ale) that is purposefully very cloudy in appearance due to live yeast in suspension. Wheat and biscuit aromas and flavors provide the backbone to the golden beer, and they are augmented by yeast and hop derived citrus and faintly spicy attributes. The Hefe X series is a FV (Dip) hopped version focusing on a single hop varietal to highlight the inclusion of specific and unique hops. Nelson Sauvin hops provide nuances of white grapes, gooseberry and floral notes to our favorite Hefeweizen.

Amber Bravo Charlie

5.5% ABV | 20.0 IBU

Red Ale - American Amber / Red

Do you have trouble understanding codes and need the help of phonetic terms while engaged in radiotelephone communication? Do you struggle with all the different styles of beer available and yearn for the 80’s and 90’s PAC NW style Amber? Look no further because AMBER BRAVO CHARLIE has you covered. Quaffable and balanced, you’ll go back in time to a simple direct expression of beer. MALT, HOPS, AMBER, BRAVO, CHARLIE, FOXTROT!

White Gold

6.2% ABV | 79.0 IBU

IPA - White

White Gold is a hoppy Belgian Wit Style Ale brewed with a traditional yeast which produces fruity esters. The fruity nuance is accentuated by coriander and orange peel added to the whirlpool. Citra is used as a dry hop, along with an experimental hop to add to the bold fruity aroma. A moderately high bitterness is perceived on the finish. A fantastic beer for Wit and IPA fans alike!

Rada Strata 3.0

8.2% ABV | 85.0 IBU

IPA - American

Brewed with huge amounts of danky Strata hops, this is truly a hop-lover's perfect pint!

Hospitality

6.7% ABV | 60.0 IBU

Pineapple IPA

Made with real pineapple and teased with hops that have pineapple and tropical characters. Mosaic, Citra and Topaz crank up the pineapple volume to lull you away to your island getaway. -Widmer menu

Andy REDmundson

9.5% ABV | 80.0 IBU

IPA - Red

Hoppy American Red Ale named after our favorite Aussie

Dark Perspective

5.0% ABV | 35.0 IBU

Schwarzbier

What you have here is a traditional Schwarzbier. A recipe from brewer Dan Munch, this beer is well balanced and clean. Rich malt character from a generous addition of Munich malt provides a smooth base to support a light roasty character. Nearly black in color w/ tinges of red, this beer is surprisingly easy drinking. Full flavored without being overwhelming, Dark Perspective is perfectly balanced. Prost!

Russell Street IPA

6.3% ABV | 70.0 IBU

IPA - American

Russell Street IPA is the epitome of a West Coast IPA: intense hop flavor and sessionability balanced with a noticeable body. Named for the street that Widmer Brothers calls home, Russell Street IPA is powered by Mosaic, Citra, and Azacca hops for a pronounced citrus and tropical profile.

Warpin' Dorphin'

7.5% ABV | 85.0 IBU

IPA - American

This collaboration with our brewing brothers from Appalachian Mountain Brewery is an IPA with light malt profile, highlighted with the complexity of Galaxy, Mosaic, Simcoe and Azacca. Massive hops at the end of boil try to pull the flavor profile away from the traditional lingering bitterness and move towards a IPA… that’s not an IPA. It’s tropical! It’s piney! It’s grassy! It’s citrusy – but, it’s not your usual IPA!

Mildly Interesting

4.0% ABV | 20.0 IBU

English Mild Ale

Similar to most lager styles, there is nothing to hide behind when brewing a Dark Mild. Using only 3 types of grain and 1 type of hop, this seemingly simple beer has plenty of nuance and subtlety. Notes of honey, baker's chocolate and a slight nuttiness make this low gravity beer all the more sessionable.

Bock Bock

8.8% ABV | 25.0 IBU

Doppelbock

A classic Doppel Bock, with a smooth, rich malt profile. No frills just an incredible interpretation of an incredible style. The hops only play a supporting role, perceived just enough to balance out the traditional German malts that were added. The alcohol is boosted at 8.8% ABV, but this beer is not hot and goes down smoothly. Enjoy!

Smooth Nitrogenator

6.5% ABV | 30.0 IBU

Extra Special / Strong Bitter

We’re bringing nitro back! After a short hiatus, Smooth Nitrogenator is our Nitro ESB. Smooth, malty, and silky this beer hits all the proper aspects of a proper nitro pour. Smooth as Barry White, Silky as Sade! Prost!
